That was one of the starting points when we created Norwald.

We live in a time when many products are bought quickly, used briefly and replaced again. With screens, dropshipping and a buy-and-discard culture, more and more of what we buy has become disposable.

We wanted to do something different.

Norwald makes a small selection of chess sets that we ourselves would want to play with and have on display in our homes. They are made from solid wood, developed with careful attention to the right proportions, weight and balance – and made to be used for many years.

That is also why we care a great deal about what our customers think once they have actually received a Norwald chess set.
